There is a master and a student, the master is teaching the student about the illusions of life, how everything that we are experiencing in the five senses are essentially illusions in life. All of sudden, the master received a call, and he started weeping and crying. The student asked why, and the master responded: my son just died in a car accident. The student questioned again: isn’t this also an illusion? Then why are you crying? The master answered: yes it is, yet it is the saddest illusion that I am experiencing in life.
When we learn about a concept, a belief, a thinking, if it only exists on the conceptual level, then we will not find liberation. It is only when we experience life through conscious awareness, the ideas and beliefs can transform into knowing through experiences. The deepest knowing and wisdom derives from inner self that we can only become aware of it through silence and stillness. When we experience life in its deepest level, we can laugh at all the tragedies, real or imaginary. Weeping and crying is not a sign of weakness, it is a process of honoring and letting go of the negative emotions: sadness and grievances. At the surface level, we might weep or cry during a tragedy, yet at the deepest level, there is stillness and sense of peacefulness running through. The peace that surpasses all understanding.
